# Welcome to Tuck

> Get it out of your head, then decide what to do with it.

Tuck is a capture-first place for thoughts, notes, reminders, files, and the context around your day.

The idea is simple: **capture first, organize later**. You should not have to choose the perfect folder before a thought is safe.

## What you can do with Tuck

* Capture from the web app, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, a browser extension, email, SMS, or the ingest API.
* Add `#tags`, `@people`, dates, files, recordings, and todos without leaving the thought.
* Organize thoughts into **brains** when a project or area deserves its own space.
* Switch between Stream, Columns, Calendar, and Kanban views.
* Connect calendars and mailboxes so Tuck can bring useful context into your day.
* Sync an encrypted vault across your devices.

<Info>Tuck calls the thing you save a **thought** in most user-facing copy. **Tuck it** is the action.</Info>

## A good way to begin

Start by capturing a few real things you would otherwise send yourself, put in a notes app, or hope you remember. Do not build a complicated organization system on day one.

When patterns emerge, create brains and tags for them.
